1- What you know about your students’ prior knowledge and conceptions (either a real class, one I gave you, or a hypothetical example)?
I know the general amount of how many students are in my classroom, the number of boys and girls, their technology competencies, learning styles, students that have accommodations, the general race of the students and money class standing
2– How you can go about unpacking the standards (Common Core State Standards)?
3- how you can integrate the ISTE-S standards into your lesson?
The students will be writing a three paragraph paper and with that I can use apps to help students know how to make a sentence, have them type, have them facilitate using websites, go online to find research and a topic to write about.
4- The parts of a lesson objective (learning target)?
1) Given a half page free write, the second grade writing students, will fulfill capitalization and punctuation for a whole page. 2) Given a paragraph, the second grade writing students, will be able to identify the introduction and concluding sentences. 3) Given ten sentences, the second grade writing students, will be able to complete five sentences of the ten sentences. 4) Given three search engines, the second grade writing students, will be able to look up research information successfully on at least one. 5) Given a paragraph of free write with ten sentences, the second grade writing students, will be to tie two sentences together two times.
5- How you might assess student learning?
I will use the previous information that I go on how the students learn in the classroom and if I find other ways that help benefit the students better in their learning do that. This classroom the students learn best with Kinesthetic, by doing it themselves. I will minimize the lecture and make sure the students get lots of practice.
6- What kinds of instructional strategies are most appropriate to the task ?
7- How you might differentiate your lesson for your students?
I will have the students do many different activities, so they do not lose attention. I will also every twenty minute have the students walk around and get the blood flowing if they had been sitting for a while. The students will be using IPads, the white board, the projector and many different pieces of technology.
8- How you might evaluate and use the materials and resources for this lesson?
I will be walking around the classroom to see what the students are working on and if they are not doing what they are supposed to I will have the students go back to their seats and the class will go over the rules of the technology in the classroom. This way I will not be singling anyone out in the classroom, but they whole class will have to deal with the consequence. I will also see if the students are understanding what is going on and if they are not I would switch to something that the students would understand better.
9- What an effective anticipatory set/hook might be for your lesson?
An effective hook would be to have students get a word that I had printed out and they run around to make a sentence all working together. Also having the students get a picture and they have to write a sentence about it and share it in front of the class.
10- Any headaches, successes, or confusion about the lesson planning process?
